Rio Cederlund

PhD, Licensed Psychologist

Rio Cederlund does not work at the Department of Psychology anymore.

I am a licensed Psychologist with basic CBT-training. I do my PhD studies at The Unit for Anxiety Research, Department of Psychology, Stockholm University, in a project where we evaluate a treatment method for social phobia in children and adolescents. My supervisor is professor Lars-Göran Öst. My co-supervisor is PhD Jonas Ramnerö.

Parallel with my Ph D studies I work at Gustavsbergs Vårdcentral, a primary care/research clinic south of Stockholm. My tasks there are assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents, as well as supportive therapy for parents.

Ph D studies

Doctoral thesis title (preliminary)

CBT With and Without Parent Training: Treatment of Social Phobia in Children and Adolescents.

Doctoral thesis subject

My research area is clinical psychology, and more specifically social phobia in children and adolescents. We want to learn more about children with social phobia, and how treatment can help them. Will we get better treatment outcome if the parents are involved? Will a possible diagnosis in the parent affect treatment outcome? In what way is everyday life affected for the children?

I am currently working on editing the thesis and hope to defend it in early spring, 2013.
